This applies to works already in the public domain before the breakup of SFR Yugoslavia in 1991.

The work meets one of the following criteria:

a) a work of known authorship and the author died before January 1, 1941

b) an anonymous work and it was published before January 1, 1941

c) a photograph or a work of applied art published before January 1, 1966

In this way the top point of the star would reach exactly the middle of the blue stripe, while the lower two points would not reach that far, but accordingly less.
